“X-Men: Days of Future Past” is coming to theaters May 23 and actor Adan Canto will be hosting the red carpet and screening in Miami on May 19.
The 32-year-old Latino will be joining the cast of the famous X-Men films as the mutant Sunspot who has the ability to manipulate solar power.
The new film is about the “present-day” X-Men trying to stop a future in which mutants are trapped in internment camps.
The new movie is directed by Bryan Singer and the cast includes celebs such as Hugh Jackman, Jennifer Lawrence and Michael Fassbender.
Adan’s passion for acting and music
Canto ended up right where he wanted, before becoming an actor his taste for the spotlight began as a musician.
With his artistic mothers influence in the picture, he became a professional singer at the young age of 16 forming the Delcanto Jazz Band in 2011.
Shortly after, his luck as an actor followed. Canto success as an actor in independent films and television shows in the United States.
His first American TV debut was for the drama “The Following,” a series on Fox in 2013 featuring Kevin Bacon and James Purefoy.
Paul Torres, Canto’s character, is a ‘normal’ man who eventually ends up revealing his side full of secrets.
Canto grew up in both Texas and Mexico making him bi cultural and bilingual.
Before working on “The Following,” he appeared on “Estado De Gracia,” a Mexican series appearing on Canal Once.
His most recent TV work is in the ABC comedy “Mixology,” created by the writers of The Hangover, where he plays a New York bartender whose charm and character affect everyone surrounding him.
Hopefully well-rounded Adan Canto can add a Latin twist to the popular X-Men franchise.
