The month of February is here and love is in the air! As Valentine’s Day approaches, we couldn’t help but to celebrate those famous Latino couples who have defeated the challenges of the public eye and are still very much in love.
Everlasting love, the newlyweds and puppy love stage, all form part of this true love series.
Amor del Bueno
The iconic salsa singer, Gloria Estefan and famed music producer, Emilio Estefan have been completamente enamorados since they met in the 70s. They are considered the strongest famous couple in the Latin entertainment biz.
Married for nearly 36 years, since 1978, many wonder what keeps their bond going?
“Number one, we got married for the right reasons,” Emilio Estefan told Oprah, according to Huffington Post. “We were raised poor kids, immigrants that were coming to this country. So, in a way, besides we are a family, we have a big responsibility for the next generation.”
Gloria Estefan agreed by saying: “I don’t have to have a hamburger to know that I have filet mignon at home!”
The Estefans have two grown children and together have worked on chart-topping albums and are GRAMMY winners.
Another exemplary couple in the Latin entertainment world is Bibi Gaytan and Eduardo Capetillo.
Their love goes way back to the nineties to when they worked in telenovelas together and even formed part of the Mexican pop group, Timbiriche.
The Mexican actors and singers got married in 1994 and formed a lovely family. In addition to their three children, Capetillo and Gaytan are expecting twins later this year.
From Oscar winners to saying “I do,” are famous actors Penelope Cruz and Javier Bardem.
The good-looking couple from Spain met in 2007 and have keep their romance out of the public eye.
In 2010, they had an equally low-profile marriage in the Bahamas.
Cruz and Bardem have two small children, son Leonardo and daughter Luna.
Mexican actors Eugenio Derbez and Alessandra Rosaldo are another of our favorite newlyweds.
The couple decided to tie the knot in 2012 after six years of dating.
Their true love was broadcasted live on national television. We can’t help but to fall in love with these lovebirds, who are soon expecting their first baby.
