The renowned Spanish awards show, Premio Lo Nuestro, is just around the corner and we got the scoop on who will perform, who is nominated and who is already a winner of the upcoming celebration.
Every year, the ceremony honors the best of Latin music, presented by television network Univision.
Here is what to expect of the anticipating awards show in the 2014 edition, which officially marks its 26th anniversary.
Latino artists with Premio Lo Nuestro nods
The Latino artists with the most nominations this year are Marc Anthony, Prince Royce, Alejandro Sanz and Carlos Vives.
Iconic salsa singer, Marc Anthony, is at the top of the list with a total of five nominations, two of which are for his collaboration with Tito El Bambino in his hit song “Porque Les Mientes?”
Following is bachata crooner, Prince Royce. The heart-throb has five nominations, including one for his work with Thalia in her bachata-pop song “Te Perdiste Mi Amor.”
Alejandro Sanz is up for Male Artist of the Year against Franki J, Marco Antonio Solis, Ricardo Arjona and Rigu. This is one of his five nods of the night.
Colombian singer, Carlos Vives, dominated the Tropical category by being nominated in four categories, including Song of the Year with “Volvi a Nacer.”
Other big nominees of the upcoming awards show are popular artists J. Alvarez, Tito el Bambino and La Voz De Mando, each holding three nominations.
The presenters and performers
The awards show, taking place in Miami’s American Airlines Arena, will be hosted by Mexican beauty, Ninel Conde and Cuban darling, William Levy.
Although these presenters will be great eye-candy throughout the night, the real bang of the night will be those who will rock at the Premio Lo Nuestro stage.
Romeo Santos, Victor Manuelle, Prince Royce, Alejandra Guzman, Marco Antonio Solis, Banda el Recodo, J. Balvin and Jencarlos Canela, are among the many artists who will have spectators cantando y bailando.
Marc Anthony granted Premio a la Excelencia
Not only is Marc Anthony the most nominated of the night, but he is also the big winner of the night.
The “Vivir Mi Vida” singer will receive the Premio a la Excelencia for his 20-year trajectory.
The GRAMMY-winning artist, who has sold over 12 million albums worldwide, will join other great artists with this merit, including Celia Cruz, Juan Luis Guerra, Los Tigres del Norte and Vicente Fernandez.
The 26th annual Premio Lo Nuestro awards show will broadcast live on February 20 via the Univision network.
