The beautiful and up-and-coming actress Genesis Rodriguez hits the big screen once more, but this time she is victim of a natural disaster.
After her supporting role as Marisol in the 2013 film “Identity Thief,” the 26-year-old is now in an upcoming suspense/drama film starring Paul Walker (“The Fast and the Furious” film series) called “Hours.” The film, written and directed by Erik Heisserer (“Final Destination 5″), brings cinematic life to parental fears.
In “Hours,” Rodriguez (“Casa de mi Padre,” “What to Expect when you’re Expecting”) plays Abigail, the expecting wife of Nolan Hayes (Paul Walker) who goes into early labor.
In a recent interview with VOXXI, Rodriguez said her new film has an incredible story, “…heart-wrenching though, so bring tissues!,” she said.
On what should be one of the happiest days of Nolan’s life, things quickly coil out of context when the birth goes tragically wrong and Hurricane Katrina ravages the hospital, forcing an evacuation on August 29, 2005.
The story centers on Walker’s character, which unfolds largely in one place, the ventilator room of a New Orleans hospital maternity ward as he races against the clock to try and keep his newborn daughter alive just after Hurricane Katrina hits the city. Nick Gomez, Lena Clark, Michelle Torres, Kerry Cahill, J. Omar Castro and Tony Bentley form part of the cast of “Hours.”
“‘Hours” will premiere nationwide on December 13.
