Eva Mendes looks radiant on the cover of Lucky magazine’s October issue. The cover girl channels a chic effortless look in a black leather jacket and white accordion skirt.
In her interview with the magazine, she shares stories about her mother and how devoted she becomes to a role. The one thing she wont share is information about her personal life, especially relationships. She told Lucky that if there were any questions about her boyfriend, Ryan Gosling, there would be no answers.
The one subject she loves to talk about is fashion and her new line launching in September, which is in collaboration with New York & Company and designed for the everyday woman.
“There are days when I don’t feel great, but I put on my favorite dress and throw a scarf in my hair, and it makes all the difference,” says the 39-year-old actress. “Hopefully my line can do that for women. Even if you’re not feeling your best, let’s admit it, the right outfit—it helps.”
Eva Mendes devotes herself to a role
The Cuban-American actress admits to doing anything for a role, which can be seen clearly in “A Place Beyond The Pines,” where she pushed herself to workout to the point of exhaustion.
“I exercised a lot. I wanted my character to feel really depleted,” Mendes said.
As far as getting too skinny, Mendes’ mother is all over it. She doesn’t allow her daughter to lose sight of what is healthy. “My mom didn’t understand why I would want to look that way,” she explains. “She’s constantly telling me I’m too skinny!”
Along with her new movie and fashion line, Mendes also starred in the HBO film “Clear History,” a Larry David comedy which takes the approach from his show “Curb Your Enthusiasm,” where actors improvise off a loose script.
Mendes is currently cast in Gosling’s directorial debut, “How to Catch a Monster,” set to be released in 2014.
