Iconic music figure Natalie Cole will soon be coming out with a Spanish-language album titled “Natalie Cole en Español“. The album will come out June 25, 2013 on Verve/Universal.
“Natalie Cole en Español“, produced by Rudy Perez, Billboard’s “Latin Music Producer Of The Decade,” will have a delightful mixture of both the old and the new. Included, will be easily recognizable Latin romantic standards along with new versions of classics recorded by her very own father, Nat King Cole. There are also Natalie’s personal choices that will make this album even more special to the 63-year-old artist.
Nat King Cole released three Spanish Albums throughout his career that gained him a lot of Latin music fans from all around the world. Her father became the first American star to record an entire album of Spanish standards, which he was inspired to do after he visited Cuba.
Natalie Cole shines
Although having a music legend as a father, Natalie Cole was able to step into her own spotlight back in 1975 with her debut album, “Inseparable”.
This granted her a No. 1 single, “This Will Be (An Everlasting Love)” and two Grammy awards for Best New Artist along with Best Female R&B Vocal Performance. The nine-time Grammy award winner is a singer, songwriter and performer.
She has also released a couple books, her last one called “Love Brought Me Back”, which came out in November 2010 and spoke about the tough times leading up to her kidney transplant back in 2009.
She is excited about sharing this new project with fans.
“So happy to announce that my first Spanish-language album ‘Natalie Cole en Español‘ will be released on Verve/Universal on June 25. I’m passionate about Latin music and inspired by my father’s Spanish-language albums. Can’t wait for you to hear it,” announced Natalie on her personal website.
