Jessica Alba opens up
Jessica Alba, known for supporting anything green, opens up about how important an eco-friendly surrounding is to her. She mentions how hard it is to find non-toxic baby products.
“It’s really hard to find baby products that use non-toxic chemicals that moms can trust. Major corporate brands that label their products ‘eco-friendly’ or ‘non-toxic’ are usually referring to the way they make their packaging, not their product.”
Alba, a mother of two girls, told the “Valley Girl Show“ that when she started The Honest Company it wasn’t so much about the business but more about avoiding toxic chemicals found in everyday products. She didn’t want her children exposed to that.
“I came up with the idea. I had to pitch it to my partners and they came on board and together we created the company from scratch,” Alba told the Associated Press last year. “From the packaging to the bottles to the product that’s inside, the way that the interfacing is with the website, all of that is really from me … it’s taken three years to get here.”
Dealing with the company has also provided the 31-year-old with a new outlook on her acting job. She tells the magazine her new company has allowed her to be more creative in her acting roles.
Along with a successful company, her new anticipated book “The Honest Life”, talks about how to create a cleaner and healthier environment for kids without going to extremes.
