Argentine soccer legend Diego Maradona is a father for the fourth time. Veronica Ojeada, his former partner, gave birth to the child on Wednesday in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
NDTV Sports reported, “Both the baby and Veronica (Ojeda, Maradona’s former partner) are in good health, they are doing very well and are accompanied by the mother’s sister and her family,” lawyer Jorge Auruccio told journalists outside the clinic.
The baby, Diego Fernando, was named after the star of the 1986 World Cup winning team for Argentina.
NDTV Sports also reported, “Auruccio said that the baby, named Diego Fernando, was born at 11:57 pm local time on Wednesday and weighed 3.2 kg (7lbs).”
Diego Maradona is currently living in Dubai working as an ambassador for the Dubai Sports Council.
The former captain of the Argentine national team has three other children. Diego Maradona has two daughters, Giannina and Dalma, from his marriage with Claudia Villafante and Diego Junior, who lives in Italy, from an extramarital affair.
